DESCRIPTION:The 23rd Congress of the Carpathian-Balkan Geological Associati
 on (CBGA 2026) will take place in Cluj-Napoca\, Romania\, on 9-11 Septembe
 r 2026. The congress invites geoscientists from the Carpathian-Balkan real
 m and beyond to share fundamental and applied research\, strengthen cross-
 border collaboration\, and explore the geology of Transylvania and surroun
 ding regions.\n\nCBGA 2026 is the 4th Romanian edition of the CBGA Congres
 s\, following Romanian meetings held in Bucharest in 1927\, 1961\, and 198
 1.\nAfter almost half a century\, Romania is hosting the congress again\, 
 with Babeș-Bolyai University supported by the Romanian Academy and partne
 r institutions.\n\nThe CBGA is a non-governmental\, international\, scient
 ific\, non-political and non-profit union of geoscientists working in the 
 Carpathian-Balkan region and surrounding areas. The Association is affilia
 ted to the International Union of Geological Sciences as a regional organi
 zation.\n\nIts aims are to promote collaborative cross-border geological r
 esearch\, training and specialization across all fields of geosciences and
  related environmental disciplines. CBGA organizes congresses\, supports W
 orking Groups\, stimulates discussion on key geological topics\, and publi
 shes scientific materials through congress volumes\, maps\, monographs and
